13/07/2006 - Labelling machine for Form, Fill & Seal

Prisym ID - Application Developments PLC - has recently designed and refined a unit dedicated to the application of labels on flow-pack form, fill & seal packaging machines (see photo).

This machine, a LABELStep with pneumatic applicator, is designed to apply self-adhesive labels directly on vertical packaging machines. The extended arm makes it possible to reach behind (or in front of) the forming tube, or prior to the collar, applying the labels while the film is still stretched, thus guaranteeing good adhesion and quality

The air jet application enables the machine to apply labels of different dimensions, with the film stopped or in motion. The system is designed to remain outside the packaging machine, in a lateral position, without creating obstacles for the operator. A ball-bearing carriage makes it possible to easily extract the labelling head for the label change operations quickly and easily.

The machine can be designed to fit different packaging machines and applications; the support enables it to be tilted and adapted also to models with tilted tube, configured for the packaging of fragile products.

Prisym ID is a leader in the production of innovative labelling systems, which are sold worldwide.

04/07/2006 - In-line labelling machine-sleeve applicator

An ideal combination was developed and produced by Prisym ID for parapharmaceutical products in cylindrical vials and ensure that they could be perfectly decorated, in terms of both aesthetics and information, while at the same time remain safe from any possibility of tampering.

The solution adopted was a glass vial with self-adhesive label with a certain appeal (overprinted with the lot number and sell-by date), sealed around the cap, after closure, by a sleeve in heat-shrink material.

The system supplied by Prisym ID includes a linear LABELline C system (equipped with a LABELspeed labelling head, a hot foil printing unit, product spacer, & wraparound unit); followed by a LABELsleeve T unit for automatic application of plastic sleeves formed by cutting and knurling a preloaded tube wound on a coil; and then a hot air oven for heat-shrinking the sleeves applied on the caps, and a final rotary table for collecting the products prior to boxing.

The system is calibrated on small-medium size products: it can process vials ranging from 20 to 85 mm diameter at a rate of up to 80 pcs/min. The extremely easy format change-over makes the system highly flexible.

07/06/2006 - A fast, accurate linear labelling machine, like a rotary system

The latest arrival at Prisym ID is the LABELline DC (double scroll), a particular configuration of the LABELline family able to treat products with critical orientation caused by their particular elliptical shape. The use of a double scroll with profile shaped onto the form of the product, along with the beneficial use of several efficient devices, allows to perform different functions with just one device:

- product spacing,
·- precise orientation
·- fast feeding under the labelling station.

The result is a linear labelling system with the same performance of a rotary machine in terms of speed and precision (200 pieces/min and above), with the advantage of being much less expensive and having format change operations reduced to simple adjustments or at most replacement of the scrolls.

In the specific application of the photo, the LABELline DC is used for a complete wrap-round labelling of oval jars. The system also satisfies the front/back labelling of toiletries, cosmetics, food dressings and sauces in squeezable bottles, especially at companies that package on behalf of third parties, where format change is relatively frequent.
